DESCRIPTION:Tout au long de l’année à venir\, notre atelier sera réservé chaque troisième jeudi du mois à des rencontres destinées aux personnes queer et racialisées.\n\nParce que le travail du métal peut parfois être dissuasif ou excluant\, ces moments ont pour objectif de se réapproprier les outils\, les savoirs et l’espace\, tout en créant collectivement dans un cadre bienveillant.\n\nL’atelier sera ouvert et accompagné par Negar Nakhai\, artiste interdisciplinaire et ancien·ne membre de notre équipe technique\, qui offrira un soutien technique au besoin.\n\nQue ce soit pour découvrir l’atelier pour la première fois\, poser vos questions\, avancer sur vos projets personnels\, tisser des liens avec d’autres membres ou simplement partager un moment ensemble\, vous êtes les bienvenu·e·s.\n\nInfos pratiques\n\nCoût d’accès à l’atelier: L’accès à l’atelier est à contribution volontaire (PWYC)\n\nCoût des matériaux : Les éléments suivants sont disponibles gratuitement: chutes de métal\, métal d’apport et gaz de protection (pour le soudage MIG et TIG)\, ainsi que les consommables usagés. Les autres matériaux et consommables sont disponibles à nos tarifs habituels.\n\nQuand ? Chaque troisième jeudi du mois\, de 17h à 21h\n\n19 février\n\n19 mars\n\n23 avril\n\n21 mai\n\n18 juin\n\nOù ? 1900\, rue Le Ber\, local 205\, Montréal\n\nLa capacité étant limitée à 10 personnes\, nous vous invitons à remplir un court formulaire Google afin de réserver votre place.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n—–\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThroughout the coming year\, our shop will be reserved every third Thursday of the month for a gathering for queer and racialized people.\n\nBecause working with metal can sometimes feel intimidating or exclusionary\, these sessions are meant to reclaim metalworking tools\, knowledge\, and space\, while creating together in a supportive environment.\n\nThe shop will be open and led by Negar Nakhai\, an interdisciplinary artist and former member of our technical team\, who will provide technical assistance if needed.\n\nWhether you want to discover the studio for the first time\, ask questions\, work on personal projects\, connect with other members\, or simply enjoy spending time together\, you are welcome to join us.\n\nPractical Info\n\nCost of shop access: Shop access is pay-what-you-can (PWYC).\n\nCost of materials: The following are available for free: offcut metals\, filler metal and shielding gas (for MIG and TIG welding)\, and used consumables. Other materials and consumables are available at our regular rates.\n\nWhen: Every third Thursday of the month\, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM\n\nfebruary 19\n\nmarch 19\n\napril 23\n\nmay 21\n\njune 18\n\nWhere: 1900 Rue Le Ber\, Studio 205\, Montreal\n\nCapacity is limited to 10 people\, so we encourage you to fill out a short Google form to reserve your spot.
