DESCRIPTION:Press Start cordially invites you all to our 2023 edition of Hip Hop as Resistance!\n\nOur theme this year is « Sharing Cultures: Celebrating Black and Indigenous Solidarity »\, as our event falls on the national day of Truth and Reconciliation we wanted to find ways to showcase the powerful shared narratives that both Black and Indigenous peoples have forged in the face of colonialism and the systematic oppression that has grown from it. Come learn about solidarity practices\, meet local artists and activists\, and celebrate the work that’s being done as we come together to fight against a common enemy. While our struggles look different\, our goal of freedom and joy is the same.\n\nThis year we’re stoked to have a 2 day event!\n\nJoin us from 6-10pm on Friday September 29th for a night of dance battles with Forward Movements (https://www.facebook.com/ForwardMovements)\nThen join us from 4-10 on Saturday the 30th for more dancing\, live performances\, DJs\, and workshops!\n\nBoth days will also feature tasty food from local vendors\, and creative wares for you to explore by local artists!\nMark your calendars and tell your friends to join us for this free and all ages event!\n\n—–\n\nPress Start vous invite cordialement à l’édition 2023 de Hip Hop comme Résistance !\n\nNotre thème cette année est le « Partage des cultures » : Célébrant la solidarité entre les communautés Noires et les communautés Autochtones ». Comme notre événement tombe le jour national de la Vérité et de la Réconciliation\, nous voulions trouver des moyens de mettre en valeur les puissants récits partagés que les communautés Noirs et Autochtones ont forgés face au colonialisme et à l’oppression systématique qui en a découlé. Venez découvrir les pratiques de solidarité\, rencontrer des artistes et des activistes locaux\, et célébrer le travail accompli en nous rassemblant pour lutter contre un ennemi commun. Bien que nos luttes soient différentes\, notre objectif de liberté et de joie est le même.\n\nCette année\, nous sommes ravis d’avoir un événement sur 2 jours !\n\nRejoignez-nous de 18h à 22h le vendredi 29 septembre pour une nuit de dance battles avec Forward Movements.\n\nPuis rejoignez-nous de 16h à 22h le samedi 30 septembre pour plus de danse\, de performances live\, de DJs et d’ateliers !\n\nLes deux jours seront également l’occasion de déguster des plats savoureux proposés par des vendeurs locaux\, et de découvrir les créations d’artistes locaux !\nMarquez vos calendriers et dites à vos amis de nous rejoindre pour cet événement gratuit et pour tous les âges !
