DESCRIPTION:Une fois par mois\, notre atelier est réservé aux personnes s’identifiant comme 2SQT&BIPOC.\n\nParce que le travail du métal peut parfois être dissuasif ou excluant\, ces moments visent à se réapproprier les outils\, les savoirs et l’espace\, tout en créant collectivement dans un cadre bienveillant.\n\nQue ce soit pour découvrir l’atelier pour la première fois\, poser vos questions\, avancer sur vos projets personnels\, tisser des liens avec d’autres membres ou simplement partager un moment ensemble\, vous êtes les bienvenu-e-s.\n\nL’atelier sera ouvert et accompagné par Negar Nakhai\, artiste interdisciplinaire et ancien·ne membre de notre équipe technique\, qui offrira un soutien technique au besoin.\n\nLa capacité étant limitée à 10 personnes\, nous vous invitons à remplir un court formulaire Google afin de réserver votre place.\n\nInfos pratiques\n\nCoût d’accès à l’atelier: L’accès à l’atelier est à contribution volontaire (PWYC)\n\nCoût des matériaux: Les éléments suivants sont disponibles gratuitement: chutes de métal\, métal d’apport et gaz de protection (pour le soudage MIG et TIG)\, ainsi que les consommables usagés. Notre personnel parle français et anglais. Des toilettes non genrées se trouvent au même étage. Dans l’atelier\, nous avons: des tabourets pour s’asseoir\, des protège-oreilles pour la sécurité auditive\, ainsi que des lunettes de sécurité et des respirateurs avec cartouches d’usage partagé (avec des produits nettoyants disponibles). Nous avons aussi de l’eau potable et un frigo disponibles dans notre bureau.\n\nSi vous avez des questions concernant l’accès à notre espace\, écrivez-nous à programmation@atelierlacoulee.org ou appelez-nous au 579-957-9240.\n\nCrédit photo: Myriam Baril-Tessier\n\n———-\n\n2SQT&BIPOC Metalworking Night\n\nOnce a month\, our shop is reserved for a gathering for people identifying as 2SQT&BIPOC.\n\nBecause working with metal can sometimes feel intimidating or exclusionary\, these sessions are meant to reclaim metalworking tools\, knowledge\, and space\, while creating together in a supportive environment.\n\nWhether you want to discover the studio for the first time\, ask questions\, work on personal projects\, connect with other members\, or simply enjoy spending time together\, you are welcome to join us.\n\nThe shop will be open and led by Negar Nakhai\, an interdisciplinary artist and former member of our technical team\, who will provide technical assistance if needed.\n\nCapacity is limited to 10 people\, so we encourage you to fill out a short Google form to reserve your spot.\n\nPractical Info\n\nCost of shop access: Shop access is pay-what-you-can (PWYC). \n\nCost of materials: The following are available for free: offcut metals\, filler metal and shielding gas (for MIG and TIG welding)\, and used consumables.
