DESCRIPTION:M Éditeur\, Archives Révolutionnaires et les éditions Raison en Révolte (PCR) vous invitent à la première édition de la Foire du livre révolutionnaire de Montréal.\nTout au long de l’après-midi\, plusieurs maisons d’édition\, médias et organisations politiques se revendiquant de la gauche révolutionnaire tiendront une table pour présenter et vendre leurs publications.\nDu génocide à Gaza à la destruction environnementale\, en passant par la crise du logement et l’appauvrissement des populations\, les horreurs du capitalisme déchirent notre monde. Chaque jour\, de nouvelles couches d’opprimé·es prennent conscience de la nécessité d’une transformation radicale de la société.\nEt pour changer le monde\, il faut d’abord le comprendre. C’est dans cette optique que nous lançons la Foire du livre révolutionnaire : pour rendre accessible les écrits\, les analyses et les outils nécessaires à celles et ceux qui souhaitent lutter contre le capitalisme.\n—\nM Éditeur\, Archives Révolutionnaires\, and Raison en Révolte (PCR) invite you to the first edition of the Montreal Revolutionary Book Fair.\nThroughout the afternoon\, several publishing houses\, media outlets\, and political organizations claiming to be part of the revolutionary left will have tables to present and sell their publications.\nFrom genocide in Gaza to environmental destruction\, housing crises and the impoverishment of populations\, the horrors of capitalism are tearing our world apart. Every day\, new layers of oppressed people are becoming aware of the need for radical social transformation.\nAnd to change the world\, we must first understand it. It is with this in mind that we are launching the Revolutionary Book Fair: to make the writings\, analyses\, and tools necessary for those who wish to fight against capitalism accessible to all.

DESCRIPTION:Pour son premier vernissage\, William Poulin présentera une variété d’œuvres créées au fil des dernières années ; touchant plusieurs médiums\, l’exposition inclura une sélection de collages à petite échelle et de plus grandes toiles peintes à l’acrylique. S’inspirant principalement des peintres américains expressionnistes\, tels que De Kooning et Franz Kline\, le tout présentera un univers abstrait et palpablement vivant.\n\nEn plus de cette sélection de collages et de toiles\, il présentera aussi une sélection de photos\, toutes prises sur pellicule de 35mm\, ayant comme sujet principal l’Amérique tel qu’elle est et tel quel a déjà été. Une Amérique rurale disparaissant\, évoquant une nostalgie pour une époque que le photographe n’a pourtant jamais connue.\n\nWilliam Poulin est aussi ingénieur de son\, musicien et producteur. Fondateur du studio Service d’Enregistrement Sud-Ouest et de la maison de disque Baby Horse Records\, il contribue depuis plusieurs années maintenant à la scène de musique locale ayant enregistré et produit plusieurs artistes d’ici incluant Bluebird\, Frisco Lee\, Erik Fines\, Museums\, Duff Thompson et plus.\n\n—\n\nFor his first exhibition\, William Poulin will present a variety of works created over the past few years. Covering several mediums\, the exhibition will include a selection of small-scale collages and larger acrylic paintings. Inspired mainly by American expressionist painters such as De Kooning and Franz Kline\, the works will present an abstract and palpably vibrant universe.\n\nIn addition to this selection of collages and canvases\, he will also present a selection of photographs\, all taken on 35mm film\, with the main subject being America as it is and as it once was. A disappearing rural America\, evoking nostalgia for a time that the photographer has never known.\n\nWilliam Poulin is also a sound engineer\, musician\, and producer. Founder of the Service d’Enregistrement Sud-Ouest studio and the Baby Horse Records label\, he has been contributing to the local music scene for several years now\, recording and producing several local artists including Bluebird\, Frisco Lee\, Erik Fines\, Museums\, Duff Thompson\, and more.

Une Amérique rurale disparaissant\, évoquant une nostalgie pour une époque que le photographe n’a pourtant jamais connue.\n\nWilliam Poulin est aussi ingénieur de son\, musicien et producteur. L’esthétique et l’art des pochettes d’albums punks ont fortement inspiré ses œuvres\, mais les mouvements tels que Dada et l’anarchisme ont\, eux\, forgé ses idées. Collages\, montages et assemblages sont au centre de sa création\, comme le patchwork d’éléments qui forment un regard critique envers une société où le paysage mondial dépérit rapidement. L’exposition compile les derniers travaux de l’artiste\, marqués par une époque où les changements climatiques et les politiques violentes d’hommes hargneux menacent l’intégrité du vivant.\n\n–\n\nFor painter and sculptor Tournesol Plante\, his greatest influences come from underground culture. The aesthetics and artworks of punk album covers have strongly inspired his work\, but movements such as Dada and anarchism have also shaped his ideas. Collages\, montages and assemblages are at the heart of his work\, as a patchwork of elements that form a critical look at a society where the global landscape is rapidly withering away. The exhibition compiles the artist’s latest works\, marked by a time when climate change and the violent policies of angry men threaten the integrity of the living.
